I am a Registered Mental Health Nurse, with a background in Community Mental Health Nursing in inner London.
I acted as a care coordinator for many years within a multi disciplinary team and worked with people experiencing mental health problems such as paranoia, distressing voices and experiences of psychosis. I have previous experience of homeless outreach work in the 1990's. I am experienced in supporting and mentoring students and facilitating therapeutic groups for service users.
I am an experienced mindfulness practitioner and teacher (trained with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University and at Oxford University’s Mindfulness Centre) and teach mindfulness skills to staff groups in the NHS and the homelessness sector. I have a special interest in mindfulness for people who hear distressing voices and experience paranoia.
I have trained in and facilitate ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) groups for people in recovery from mental health problems.
I also work one-two days a week for EASL providing holistic assessments for homeless people experiencing emotional and mental health problems and in supporting staff teams in developing a psychologically informed environment.
