I qualified as a Social Worker in the late 1990's and commenced my professional career as an Alcohol & Drug Counsellor, then moved to Dual Diagnosis before completely immersing myself in the psychiatric world as a Social Worker in a Crisis & Home Treatment Service.
I am a Kiwi and in 2005 I moved to the U.K., where I trained as an Approved Mental Health Act Professional (AMHP) and more recently as a Best Interest Assessor.
Since settling in the country I have largely been in the employment of Islington Borough Council and placed with a Psychiatric Liaison Service, and more recently in an AMHP Duty Service.
I started working with EASL in 2012 in a part time capacity and in April 2015 I finally made the leap and was employed four days a week. I enjoy working with EASL because of the variety of roles, that encompass training, consultation and face to face assessments.
