I am a social worker with 20 years’ experience of working in integrated NHS and local authority mental health services in Central and East London. I have worked as a care coordinator under the Care Programme Approach and as an Approved Mental Health Professional under the Mental Health Act. For 7 years, I worked with the Joint Homelessness Team in Westminster, initially as a Senior Social Worker and latterly as the Team Manager. I also established the Homelessness Prevention Initiative, designed to identify service users who were homeless or at risk of homelessness at the point of an acute mental health admission and to provide housing solutions upon discharge. I was a member of the NRPF panel for the borough of Westminster and provided training to frontline staff on the intersections between community care and immigration legislation.
I am currently training as an Integrative Psychotherapist at the Minster Centre. As part of my training, I work as a volunteer counsellor in a service for trans and non-binary identified people. I also work part-time as a Mental Health Advisor in the Student Support Services at Roehampton University.
I joined EASL as a Sessional Social Worker in March 2019. My main roles within the service have been to assess the needs of homeless clients and to provide advice and guidance to the services that support them.
