The London Borough of Newham has commissioned EASL to work alongside their existing outreach service, delivered by Thames Reach, which aims to address rough sleeping in the borough.
EASL provides qualified and registered practitioners to assess the needs of homeless people who present with complex needs, including mental health or related issues. EASL also supports staff by providing opportunities for complex case discussion.
The goal of EASL intervention is to enable the person and the organisation requesting the assessment to form a better understanding of service users’ health, care and social needs, and then to facilitate access to appropriate assistance / services.
Where necessary, EASL advocates on behalf of clients in order to identify and manage routes off the streets for them, including where possible statutory mental health assessments.
